For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, always apply the parking brake before moving the gearshift lever to the "P" (Park) position. When parking on an incline, if you shift to the "P" position before applying the parking brake, the weight of the vehicle body will make it difficult to shift out of "P" when you are ready to start the vehicle.
When you are ready to start the vehicle, shift the gearshift lever out of "P" (Park) before releasing the parking brake.
The parking brake must not be tightened while the vehicle is in motion, as overheating may reduce the effectiveness of the rear brakes, shorten brake life, or cause brake damage.
If the parking brake does not brake the vehicle steadily or does not release completely, ask your dealer or service station to inspect it immediately. The parking brake should always be fully applied before leaving the vehicle, otherwise the vehicle could move and cause injury or damage. When parked, make sure that the gearshift lever is in neutral on manual transmission vehicles: leave the gearshift lever in the "P" (Park) or "N" (Neutral) position on automatic transmission vehicles, and most automatic transmission vehicles can only be pulled out of the vehicle when in P! Ignition key. In the absence of special circumstances, it is strictly forbidden to park the vehicle with the transmission in the forward (D, S, L or with Arabic numerals, etc.) or reverse (R) position.
